WANDER HOME is a multi-modal installation in Cedar, Michigan by saylem mississippi celeste. WANDER HOME leads its guests through the artist’s rendition of rediscovering a somatic home through the pedagogy of quilting and its many life lessons.

The bulk of the installation is stationed along the edges of the Cedar North property- inviting guests to wander and reflect in real time. Quilts, Flags, Billboards, Signs, and Sigils dot the wandering trail, with the gallery acting as a base station for treks onto the path. With physical, visual, tactile, auditory, and philosophical prompts, this place-based experiment relies on storytelling to reflect on the transient nature of belonging.
